Power was restored as of 5:30 p.m. to Greenwood County customers affected by late afternoon outages.
Westar Energy officials say the outages were storm-related after a series of showers and thunderstorms pushed through the region Tuesday afternoon.
Close to 280 customers in and around Madison lost power. Madison Golf Course was also rendered powerless Tuesday.

Close to 300 Westar Energy customers in northern Greenwood County are currently without power.
The company’s outage map says 276 customers are offline, thanks to a pair of outages near Madison. The more significant outage is about a mile south of the town and Madison Golf Course, affecting all but one customer. The secondary outage is just west of Madison according to the outage map.
Details are pending on the cause. Westar estimates the power should come back online by 6 pm.
