Rain this week won’t break our current drought, but it does appear we could have some short-term relief.
Between one and two inches of rain is expected areawide this week, with some areas picking up heavier totals. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says we are now almost six inches below our normal rainfall total just since June. Looking back to January, the rain deficit is now nine inches.
Based on the current forecast, the best chances for widespread rainfall are Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening, with more scattered to isolated storm coverage the rest of the week.
