The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Houston Texans 17-10 in their preseason opener Thursday night.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes played the first quarter, he was 5 for 7 passing in 2 drives. Coach Andy Reid called it a good learning opportunity.
The lone Chiefs touchdown came at the end of the first half when Chad Henne connected with wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for a 24-yard score.
Harrison Butker added a 32 yard fieldgoal in the 4th quarter. The Chiefs did have the ball 1st and goal at the 1 but could not score the tying points late in the game. The Chiefs go to Atlanta next Friday.
