The Lyon County History Center is inviting people to experience a simpler game.
The History Center is sporting two vintage baseball teams this year with the Howe House Hitters and William Allen White Sox. History Center Executive Director Greg Jordan spoke recently about the historical significance and difference in rule from the game played back then compared to now.
Teams play a 20 game season, in a league of 10 teams from across the state. Jordan says they are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the building of the Howe House in September. It is the oldest house in Lyon County and second oldest still existing structure.
