The Kansas City Royals shutout the Chicago Cubs 9-0 Wednesday night.
Heath Fillmyer was the winning pitcher, picking up his first win, going 7 innings giving up 3 hits with 3 strikeouts.
Drew Butera drove in 2 runs with a double in the 2nd inning. He added a sacrifice fly in the 8th.
Aldalberto Mondesi hit a 3 run home run in the 7th inning. In the 8th Jorge Bonifacio doubled in a run and Brett Phillips tripled driving in a run.
The win ends a 6 game losing skid. Thursday is an off day for the Royals. They begin a weekend series with St. Louis on Friday.
