The East held on for a 21-14 win over the West in the 45th annual Kansas Shrine Bowl Football game Saturday night.
Emporia State signee Jack Petz from St. James Academy scored the first touchdown for the East. The East would score 2 more touchdowns before halftime to take a 21-0 lead. The West did all their scoring in the 2nd half. Lyndons Dexton Swinehart led the East with 3 catches for 38 yards. Burlingtons Connor Jeffers had 9 rushing attempts for 33 yards. Olpes Damon Schmidt had 1 catch for 3 yards.
The East has won 3 of the last 4 Shrine Bowls. The West still leads 27-17 and 1 tie.
