EUREKA — It has been a month since an EF-3 tornado sliced through parts of Eureka, damaging almost 170 homes and wounding eight people.
Greenwood County’s Long-Term Recovery Committee is poised to restart the case management process after recently nearing the end of its work following the July 2016 tornado. Committee chair Matt Osborn, a KVOE Morning Show guest this week, said the case management process could resume the week of Aug. 6 and is vitally important for several reasons.
In addition, the confidential process lends confidence to the general public about the decisions reached by the committee.
Osborn says it has been a challenge to get back to normal after the tornado, but the recovery process is “ahead of the curve” and Eureka has proven its resilience in recovering from the two tornadoes this decade.
