Emporia Police have arrested a 35-year-old man following an alleged assault in east Emporia Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Lisa Sage, Cory Coburn was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges including aggravated battery, aggravated criminal threat, criminal damage to property as well as possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed a response to a reported trauma incident at a mobile home in the 800 block of Clark Street shortly before 1 p.m. Sage says the assault was a domestic incident and Coburn was arrested at Newman Regional Health.
Coburn is currently being held in the Lyon County Detention Center awaiting formal charges.
