Pavement work is beginning this week on portions of Merchant Street.
Contractors are starting work to remove and replace dilapidated curb and gutter, handicapped-access ramps and pavement from South Avenue to 12th. There could be minor delays and lane reductions but the city does not anticipate any lane closures. The city is asking drivers to slow down and be cautious in the construction zone.
The City Engineer’s Office has not said when the work could be completed. This is part of the city’s annual Street Rehabilitation Project.
