Salvador Perez hit a 2 run home run in the first inning to give the Kansas City Royals a 2-1 lead over the Minnesota Twins on the way to a 4-2 Saturday night.
Alcides Escobar scored on a Lucas Duda single in the 3rd. Alex Gordon scored on a Whit Merrifield single in the 8th. Brian Flynn, the 2nd of 5 pitchers used, picked up the win. Manager Ned Yost was pleased with the way starter Jacob Junis pitched.
