Planned water line work begins Thursday near Sixth and Prairie.
Emporia’s Engineering Department is closing Tyson’s southbound employee entry road off Prairie as it installs a new 12-inch water main. This will extend from West US Highway 50 south to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks.
This project should last about a week, weather permitting.
Separately, South Avenue at Carter is closed Wednesday for around two weeks to install a 16-inch main. That project benefits Industrial Park III and nearby neighborhoods.
