Our marginal risk of severe weather apparently has become even more slim after rain and thunderstorm activity Tuesday morning.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says the storms from earlier and ongoing cloud cover could take the severe weather risk almost totally out of the forecast equation. There’s still a chance of storms refiring and heavy rain is still possible.
Chase County was in in a flood warning for much of the day after heavy rain across eastern parts of the county Sunday and more heavy rain west of Kansas Highway 177 Tuesday.
Elsewhere, morning rain totals were pretty low:
*KVOE studios: 0.10 inch
*Emopria Municipal Airport: 0.11 inches
*Allen: 0.20 inches
*Americus: 0.20 inches

6 am Tuesday: Area faces marginal severe weather risk Tuesday
Strong storms are possible across the KVOE listening area, but the overall risk is low and storm coverage will probably be isolated Tuesday.
Officially, a marginal risk of severe weather affects Lyon and all surrounding counties. Forecasters are looking at the prospect of two rounds of storms — one before noon and one by late afternoon — with damaging winds as the main severe weather threat. Heavy rainfall and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning are other concerns.
Additional storms are possible through Thursday before a dry weekend is in store. Stay with KVOE and KVOE.com for updates.
