Major League Baseball announced that Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez will be the American League’s starting catcher for the fifth-straight season at the 89th All-Star Game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. . Perez was originally selected as a reserve, but will now start in place of Tampa Bay’s Wilson Ramos, who will miss the game due to injury.
