Downhome returned to Olpe this weekend.
Kicking off Friday with a youth rodeo and then early Saturday morning with a bicycle race, a 5K and breakfast, there was plenty going on across town. Olpe City Clerk Joyce Wilson says they charged $2 this year for children’s activities with a goal in mind for future generations to be able to make a splash every summer.
Wilson says her initial goal is $50,000 to start construction of the splash pad with the total cost estimated at $250,000.
In addition to the parade, softball tournament and firemen’s barbecue the evening also included a chance for people to dance the night away in the streets of downtown Olpe.
