The Emporia Energy 18 year old team split a doubleheader with the Chase County Explosion 16 year old team Thursday.
Chase County won the first game 6-2. MaKenzie Higgs, Laura Savage, Jayden May and Corrina Crabb each drove in a run for the Explosion. For the Energy Carli Lupkes was 2 for 2 and scored both runs.
Emporia Energy won the 2nd game 9-8. Andie Wilson tripled to drive in the winning run. Chase County was leading 5-0 going to the bottom of the 3rd when the Energy scored 5 runs to tie the game. Chase County broke the tie with 3 runs in the top of the 5th. The Energy would score 4 runs for the win in the bottom of the 5th. The Energy is now 16-9 for the season, Chase County is 13-12-2. The Emporia Energy will be hosting a tournament Saturday and Sunday.
