Hot, humid weather has been smothering the Flint Hills just about all week. Now the entire KVOE listening area is under a heat advisory of some sort.
Chase and Greenwood counties were placed under an advisory Thursday. The advisory expires at 8 pm Friday. Lyon and all other surrounding counties are in a separate advisory until 8 pm Saturday.
Air temperatures have been in the mid- to upper 90s all week, and heat index readings have pushed above 100 degrees all week as well.
Temperatures will be closer to average early next week in the low 90s. Chances of showers and thunderstorms are also in the picture from Friday night through Monday night.
