The Emporia Energy U-18 girls fast pitch softball team opened the USSSA Class B state tournament with a 10-0 win over Legit Saturday.
The Energy 18s scored 8 runs in the first inning and added 2 more runs in the 2nd inning. Mya Chapman, Kaylee Thomas, Drue Davis and Sophie Seeley each drove in 2 runs. Andie Wilson was the winning pitcher, she tossed a 3 hit shutout. The Energy 18s are the number 1 seed and will face the Topeka Stingers Sunday in their second game.
