Sultry conditions are back in place for the entire KVOE listening area, even though not everybody is under a weather alert for the Fourth of July.
Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in a heat advisory through 8 pm Wednesday evening with highs expected around 94 degrees and heat index readings from 101 to 107. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says you need to pay attention to your body, regardless of the setting.
Meyers also says you need to watch your alcohol intake if you’re planning to have a few adult beverages Wednesday.
Chase and Greenwood counties were in a separate heat advisory Tuesday but that has since been canceled.
Besides drinking lots of water or sports drinks, wear light, loose-fitting clothing, take as many breaks as you need in air conditioning or shade, make sure children and pets aren’t left in hot vehicles and check on elderly neighbors who may not have full access to air conditioning.
We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
