The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to start a concrete pavement patching project on U.S. Hwy 400 in Greenwood County Monday.
The road work begins at the east junction of U.S. 400/K-99 and continues east for 15 miles to end at the Greenwood-Wilson County line. Work includes patching small areas of full-depth concrete pavement and removing and replacing pavement markings.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by signals and a pilot car during daylight hours. At night, the signals will be turned off and the highway reopened to unrestricted traffic. KDOT expects the project to be finished by late October, weather permitting. Drivers are reminded to obey the signs and signals and to slow down in the work zone.
KDOT awarded the $2 million construction contract to Iowa Civil Contracting, Inc.
