The Flint Hills Community Health Center is reporting a clean audit.
Director Renee Hively calls this excellent news for the Health Center.
The audit came from this week’s monthly meeting of the Board of Directors. Hively says the audit results show the Health Center is meeting all its financial and program standards, which should instill confidence into Health Center operations.
The Health Center board meeting was significant for another reason, coming at the start of the latest site visit by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration.
Hively says the HRSA site team pores through documentation and quiz Health Center staff about what’s presented. HRSA also makes recommendations on potential adjustments.
HRSA is also the agency that recommended the Health Center board meetings be closed to the public, a step the Health Center took earlier this year. Study by the Lyon County Attorney’s Office on the legality of that action is ongoing.
HRSA recommendations should be released to the Health Center within the next two months.
