JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — Two motorcycles collided in the Kansas City metro area Saturday, leaving all three participants — including an Emporia man — with some injuries as a result.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 37-year-old Timothy Burnett of Emporia was northbound on Interstate 35 and had passed Interstate 435 when his motorcycle hit some road debris shortly before 1 pm. Burnett’s motorcycle then became disabled in the highway.
The second motorcycle, driven by 34-year-old Jason Urban of Hutchinson, couldn’t avoid Burnett’s bike and hit it.
Burnett and his passenger, 36-year-old Melissa Guerrero of Lenexa, were listed as either injured or possibly injured, respectively. They were treated at the scene and did not receive further treatment. Urban, meanwhile, was taken to Overland Park Regional for observation and treatment afterward.
