The final matches are officially set for the first annual U.S. Disc Golf Amateur Match Play Championships.
Saturday the tournament quarterfinals and semifinals took place at Jones Park. Cole Neal of Mississippi claimed a 2 and 1 win over Brian O’neill of Delaware. Matt Whitlock of South Carolina was 1 up in his win over Jermaine Barksdale of Georgia. Nathaniel Romans of Kentucky was 2 up in his match win over Tennessee’s Brandon Bostwick and Jake Dills of Oregon was 1 up in a win over Curtis Broadhurst of Kansas.
This set up semi final matches between Neal and Whitlock, and Romans and Dills.
Dills would claim his place in the finals over Whitlock with a record of 6 and 5. Whitlock would advance to the finals over Neal with a 3 and 1 win.
The finals will begin Sunday at 10am in Peter Pan Park
