Camso executives showcased its latest manufacturing capabilities at its Emporia plant Thursday, specifically in the area of wheel and track remanufacturing.
Guests were taken on an in-depth tour of the plant at 1730 E. Logan Ave. to see firsthand the facilities. The innovative program is said by top officials to be a game changer in the industry because it allows farmers to return their used Camso wheels and tracks to their local dealer instead of disposal. Camso can then remanufacture the carcass and extend the life-cycle. Martin Lunkenbein, Service and Aftermarket Sales Executive Director – Agriculture explains.
The process will also be more economical for ag producers.
Initially, a pilot program for the manufacturer beginning last year, Camso began offering the remanufactured tracks and wheels program exclusively at its Emporia plant in mid-March. Lunkenbein says Emporia made sense for a number of reasons.
In fact, Lunkenbein says Camso got validation during the pilot program last summer of just how well the product performs from a local ag producer who received the first production track from the Emporia plant.
Emporia is currently Camso’s only remanufacturing facility, but Lunkenbein says that could eventually change depending on market demand. Remanufacturing is available for tracks taken from friction drive tractors, and for midroller wheels of all tractors. To determine if tracks are eligible to be remanufactured, customers can contact Camso for more information.
