The Kansas City Royals would come within one in the bottom of the ninth but would ultimately fall to Texas 3-2 Wednesday.
Once again Texas would score first with single runs in the first and second innings. Hunter Dozier would bring Kansas City within one as he singled in Alex Gordon in the bottom of the second. In the sixth Rougned Odor would hit a single home run to reestablish the Ranger’s two run lead 3-1. In the bottom of the ninth, Mike Moustakas would blast his 14th homerun of the season to again bring the Royals within one with no outs, but Kansas City was unable to add to it as Texas would complete the series sweep 3-2.
Alcides Escobar was ejected from the game in the eighth after a disagreement with home plate umpire Chad Fairchild.
Jakob Junis would get the start for the Royals giving up three runs off five hits in six innings.
The Royals will now take a day off before traveling to Houston where they will begin a three game series with the Astros Friday.
