Fundraising is ongoing for a renovation project to expand the Flint Hills Technical College Culinary Arts Program.
FHTC President Dean Hollenbeck and Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch joined KVOE for Tech Talk on Tuesday. During the segment, Hollenbeck explained the major purpose of the renovation is to provide their students with state of the art facilities.
Crouch says the renovations will also bring their facilities closer to American Culinary Federation accreditation.
Hollenbeck added along with the facility renovations there are also proposed changes to the curriculum, specifically a new course that was recently approved focusing on food science.
Hollenbeck estimates the project could be completed by 2020, a specific date has yet to be announced.
