The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from the Buhler Nationals Wednesday night.
Post 5 won the first game 5-3. Cole Moore drove in 2 runs with a single and ground out. Beau Baumgardner scored 2 runs. Sawyer Slayden scored 2 runs and drove in a run. Hayden Baumwart was the winning pitcher, going 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 6 hits with 6 strikeouts. Cade Kohlmeier pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.
Emporia won the 2nd game 2-1 behind the pitching of Eric Hertlein. He shutout Buhler on 2 hits for 6 innings.
Hertlein scored Emporias first run on a Riley Wagner double and Cole Moore drove in a run with a single. Cole Moore has been hot. In the last 3 games he has 9 RBI.
The Post 5 seniors are now 11-3 for the season. They are off until next Tuesday when they host the Topeka Scrappers.
