Funeral services have been announced for Shirley Slaymaker, the wife of former Emporia State men’s basketball coach and current Chase County girls basketball coach Ron Slaymaker.
The funeral will be held at the Granada Theatre at 10:30 am Saturday and will be conducted by Damon Leiss. Burial will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday at the Granada.
Shirley Slaymaker passed away Thursday at age 82. The Slaymakers had been married 62 years, according to the ESU Department of Athletics.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ron and Shirley Slaymaker Scholarship Fund at the Emporia State University Foundation. Donations can be made in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral, which is in charge of arrangements.
