Road work is underway for a federal highway in southern Greenwood County.
Pavement patching has started on US Highway 400 just north of Severy. Work will push east to the Woodson County line, or about 15 miles, before it’s done — perhaps by late September.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane during daylight hours with signals and a pilot car helping to control traffic. Signals will be turned off at night and the highway will be reopened to unrestricted travel.
Iowa Civil Contracting of Victor, Iowa, won the project with a $2 million bid.
