Lyon County District Court has a busy start to the week.
Jury trial is slated to begin Monday for Nathyn Kennedy, one of four defendants in a rural burglary case that developed in January. Kennedy, Andrea Redburn, Clinton Moody and Dianna Lee were all accused of burglarizing at least one rural address in Lyon County in January. Kennedy’s charged with burglary of a non-dwelling, theft and criminal trespass.
Redburn, meanwhile, pleaded no contest to criminal trespass last month and will be sentenced in July.
Separately, an Emporia man accused of rape has a motions hearing Monday as well. Edgar Hilberto Gonzalez, 46, will be in court at 9:15 am. Gonzalez is accused of sexually assaulting a then-18-year-old person in early January. He also faces a count of aggravated criminal sodomy. The affidavit in this case has been sealed, so further details have not been made available.
