The Emporia Triple A American Legion baseball team improved to 3-0 in the Sam Ellis Classic with a 12-4 win over the Kansas Senators Saturday.
Post 5 scored 3 runs in the first inning, added a run in the 2nd inning, 2 runs in the 3rd and ended the game in the 5th in the with 3 more runs. The Senators scored all 4 runs in the top of the 5th. Cole Moore was 2 for 3 with 4 RBI.
Cade Kohlmeier was the winning pitcher, he also drove in 2 runs and scored the game ending run.
The Post 5 Seniors will play Wellington in a championship semi-final at 1pm. The other championship semi-final has Salina playing the Kansas Senators. The two winners will play in the championship game at 5pm.
At 9am Adover plays the Kansas Indians.
In the 11am the Wichita Aviators plays Ottawa.
