A special simulcast will help aid the call for foster families in Kansas amidst dwindling numbers.
The Caring for Kids Collectively simulcast will be hosted by both Sacred Heart Catholic Church and First Baptist Church Thursday afternoon. The event is sponsored by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in cooperation with several other local agencies.
Peggy Mast with the KDCF was a recent guest on the KVOE Morning Show and explained exactly what the simulcast will entail.
In Kansas, there are approximately 7,500 children in need of foster families, and only 2,700 homes able to house them. Mast says these numbers are a common trend across the nation.
The simulcast will begin at 1 pm at either Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the First Baptist Church. The event will feature six speakers and is free to the public. For more information visit the Caring for Kansas Kids Collectively Facebook page.
