The Royals scored a single run in the first on a Mike Moustakas single. They added 2 more runs in the 2nd inning on Alciedes Escobar and Jon Jay singles. Jorge Soler doubled in 2 runs in the 5th inning to give the Royals a 5-2 lead. The Angels scored 3 runs in the 6th to take a 6-5 lead. Salvador Perez hit a solo home run in the 7th to tie the game before the Angels scored 3 runs in the 8th inning.
