The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team wrapped up play in the Iola tournament with 2 wins Sunday.
Post 5 defeated 417 Royals 5-3. They scored 4 runs in the 5th. They scored 2 runs on an error and Beau Baumgardner drove in 2 runs. Sawyer Slayden was the winning pitcher giving up 3 runs on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts. The Emporia AAA closed out the tournament with a 13-5 win over Iola. Post 5 scored 5 runs on the first inning and never trailed. Beau Baumgardner was 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored. Jace Stewart drove in 3 runs. Sawyer Slayden and Skyler Beatty each drove in 2 runs. They finished the weekend with a 3-1 record. They will play the Wichita Aviators Wednesday in Wichita.
