Lyon County Judge Lee Fowler has been re-appointed to the Kansas Sentencing Commission.
Fowler was re-appointed to a two-year term.
The Sentencing Commission evaluates sentencing guidelines. It also advises or recommends any changes to Secretary of Corrections Joe Norwood and to lawmakers.
The committee consists of a either the Supreme Court chief justice or a designee, two district court judges, a court services officer, Attorney General Derek Schmidt, public defenders, defense counselors, prosecutors, the Secretary of Corrections, the state parole board, community corrections, lawmakers and the general public.
Fowler serves as vice chair. Judge Benjamin Sexton, who serves Dickinson County, succeeds the outgoing Judge Evelyn Wilson as committee chair.
