Emporia’s Public Works Department and Lyon County’s Highway Department are making a joint announcement on a temporary bridge closure next weekend on 30th Avenue just east of Graphic Arts Road.
The closure originally was scheduled to take place last week, but officials say it will now begin at approximately 7 a.m. on June 2 and re-open to normal traffic by 7 a.m. June 4, weather permitting.
Crews will conduct preventive maintenance to reseal the expansion joint on both ends of the bridge, and extra time is needed to let the new joint material cure.
The bridge will close around 7 a.m. June 2 (SAT).
