Summer doesn’t start for another four weeks but don’t tell that to officials with the Jones Aquatic Center, who officially open for business this weekend.
Emporia’s outdoor pool features plenty of activities for all ages and Jones Aquatic Center Supervisor Jenn Wegener listed some of those on the KVOE’s Newsmaker program Tuesday.
Additional activities include a summer carnival in June and a Spartan swim in July. Additionally, for those who come in on opening day Saturday, Wegener says there will be some special deals.
The pool features zero-depth entry, a lazy river, two waterslides and a splash pad. It is also available for after-hours rental for a two-hour minimum. Call 620-340-6400 for more information.
Prices are $5 for adults 16 and older and $3 for those ages 4 to 15. Children 3 and under are free with the purchase of an adult swim. Hours of operation will be noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
