A review of the current Emporia Police car-buying policy will take place during Wednesday’s Emporia City Commission study session.
Police Chief Scott Cronk will discuss with commissioners policies from nine other city police departments and the Kansas Highway Patrol. This comes as the city commission looks for an efficient avenue to buy and replace the vehicles moving forward.
Wednesday’s agenda also includes a planned discussion on alcohol laws, strong beer sales, the sale of alcohol in White Auditorium and common consumption area in the city and an update on Emporia and Lyon County zoning regulations. In addition, there will be an update on the potential for the eventual replacement of Fire Station No. 1. The discussion will include ideas for either continuing the process or placing the issue in a holding pattern.
Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Conference Room 1AB at White Auditorium.
