The Emporia High boys golf team finished in 3rd place at the 5-A state tournament Monday.
Individually for Emporia High Gentry Scheve finished in 3rd place shooting an even par 72. He tied for 2nd place and finished in 3rd place after a play-off. Collin Hopkins finished tied for 13th place with a 79. Caleb Schmid finished in a tie for 15th place with an 80. Garyn Fischer shot a 93 and finished in 67th place. Michael Winslow of St. Thomas Aquinas took medalist honors with a 69.
St. Thomas Aquinas finished in first place and Kapaun Mt. Carmel finished in 2nd place.
Olpe finished in 8th place at the 2A tournament at Crestwood Country Club at Pittsburg. Garrett Pimple finished in a tie for 22nd place with an 87. Kadon Redeker tied for 26th with an 89. Lyndons Stephan Steggs finished in a tie for 76th place. Salina Sacred Heart won the 2A State title.
Hartfords Kolten Neill finished in a tie for 35th place with a 99 at the 1A tournament at Mariah Hills at Dodge City.
Osage Citys Trenton Plinsky tied for 30th with a 85 at the 3A State Tournament.
Chase County finished in 6th place at the Sand Greens State tournament at Chase County Golf Club at Cottonwood Falls. Individually Justin Kohlman finished in 2nd place after a play-off with a 69. Caleb Stout finished in 10th place after a play-off with a 78.
Emporias Golf Course hosted the 4A state Tournament. Keegan Ellington of Andover Central took medalist honors with a 2 under 69. Andover Central won the team title. Burlingtons Jace Watkins tied for 39th place with a 82. Caleb Haselhuhn tied for 79th place with a 92.
