Lyon County Dispatch is trying to determine why the county’s emergency 911 service is not working for landlines in and around Olpe.
The problem was noted around 10 pm Sunday night. Cell phone calls from the Olpe area to 911 get through, although they are currently being re-routed to other counties before being handled locally.
Olpe-area residents needing emergency help are currently advised to use their cell phones to call 911 until the situation is resolved. The county’s non-emergency numbers are 620-343-4200 and 620-341-3205.
