For the 2nd year in a row the Emporia High boys track team finished in 1st place at the Emporia Regional Friday. The Emporia High girls finished in 2nd place behind Newton.
Emporia High will have athletes competing in 24 events at state. The Emporia High boys had 4 regional champions. Rafael Vasquez finished 1st in the 300 hurdles. Jonathan Olsson had the best throw in the shot put. Myles Livingston had the best throw in the discus. The boys 4 by 400 relay team also finished in 1st place.
For the girls- Abby Stewart won both the 3200 and 1600 meter runs. Taylor Milleson won the shotput and Olivia Young won the high jump.
