The Emporia State baseball team begins play in the NCAA Central Regional Tournament Thursday. The Hornets will play number 1 seed and 14th ranked Southern Arkansas.
Coach Bob Fornelli says just making it back to the regional tournament is a big accomplishment.
Senior rightfielder Bryce Fischer says they have to keep playing the way they have been the last 13 games.
Senior Seth Holman will be the starting pitcher and says he is ready to give it his best effort.
Senior catcher Mason Brown says making it to the regional tournament is a nice reward.
First pitch Thursday is set for 1:30p. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
The other first round games have Pittsburg State playing Augustana.
Central Missouri plays Oklahoma Baptist.
And Central Oklahoma plays St. Cloud State.
Emporia States Seth Holman and Bryce Fischer have been named 1st team all central region by the National Baseball Writers Association.
