A pretrial hearing has been continued for one of two Americus men accused in the theft of a firearm in late February.
Jace Sull, 18, appeared Friday in front of Judge W. Lee Fowler, where his pretrial was pushed back to 10:30 a.m. June 6. His attorney Steve Atherton requested the continuance based on new charges filed last week after Sull and 19-year-old Chase Weaver were arrested in connection with an auto burglary in Olpe.
Sull faces 11 different charges including burglary, theft and weapons possession related to the February incident, in which a stolen gun was found inside a vehicle at Northern Heights High School. Weaver also faces three similar charges from the February incident. After filing a continuance last week, he’ll appear for a pretrial hearing at 2 p.m. June 15.
