The Emporia High softball team swept a doubleheader from Topeka High to close out the regular season.
Emporia High won the first game 12-8. The Lady Spartans trailed 7-3 going to the bottom of the 5th. They would score 4 runs in the 5th and 4 more in the 6th. Paige Thomas was the hero. She hit a solo home run in the 5th and a 3 run home run in the 6th. Payten Redeker hit a solo home run in the 1st inning.
Mya Chapman was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI. Brynn Riley was the winning pitcher.
In the 2nd game Emporia High out scored Topeka High 18-17. Paige Thomas doubled in the tying and winning runs in the 7th. She finished with 4 RBI in the game. Andie Wilson was 4 for 5 with 4 RBI. Kristeena Thompson drove in 3 runs.
The Emporia High softball team finishes the season with a 12-8 record. Regionals will be next week.
