The Emporia State Softball team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Central Regional tournament by defeating the top-seed Winona State, 3-1, Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Hornets scored a single run in the 2nd and two more in the 5th inning. They got RBI’s from Danielle Sprinkle, Caitlin Vanvleck, and Cassidy Beem. Pitcher Montana Mesler pitched seven innings, scattering six hits while surrendering just one run.
Coach April Rosales called it a complete team effort.
The Lady Hornets will play Friday afternoon at 1 pm against Minnesota Duluth. Pregame at 12:45 pm on MIX 104.9 FM. Duluth out scores Arkansas Tech 5-1.
