Lyon County commissioners approved several purchases and contracts during their action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners gave their approval to four purchases impacting the Road and Bridge Department. Foley Equipment had submitted quotes for a pressure kit and hydraulic system drain line, used motor grader and two grader power trains for a total of nearly $370,000.
Also, commissioners approved contracts with BG Consultants to eventually replace the jail’s chiller and generator. Total costs of those contracts will be around $26,000.
Separately, commissioners approved an access vacation for an easement in the Brookfield Subdivision, which resides between Roads 180 and 190 south to north and between Roads E-5 and F east to west. This follows a unanimous recommendation by the Emporia Planning Commission and maintains all current utility easements.
