Plumb Place is using National Housing Week of Action to call attention to a major fundraiser now underway.
The facility is looking to raise $30,000 to match a federal grant from Housing and Urban Development. On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Tuesday, Interim Director Clara Corn said that grant is a large part of the agency’s budget, helping to offset operational expenses, administrative costs and supportive services costs. With that in mind, Corn says it’s important to reach goal so the doors stay open and Plumb Place continues to serve women in crisis.
Corn says Plumb Place serves a vital role in the area by serving women who are facing homelessness due to urgent or crisis situations. Besides providing shelter, Plumb Place also offers a range of services to lay the foundation for success when women leave.
