The Emporia State baseball team closed out the regular season with a 14-7 win over Lindenwood Sunday giving Head Coach Bob Fornelli career win 900.
The Hornets scored 5 runs in the 6th inning to take control of the game. They added 3 more runs in the 7th. Tate Kastens was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Mack Gowing and Mason Brown each drove in 3 runs. TheĀ Hornets finish the regular season 29-20 and 20-16 in MIAA play.
They will be the 7th seed in the MIAA Tournament and will play Northwest Missouri State Thursday in the 12:30p game. The MIAA tournament will be played in Warrensburg, Missouri hosted by CentralĀ Missouri.
The other first round games have top seed Central Oklahoma playing Northeastern State. Number 3 seed Central Missouri plays Missouri Western. 4th seed Pittsburg State plays Nebraska Kearney.
