6 Emporia State athletes scored points and 7 qualified for the finals at the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship Saturday.
Payson Maydew finished in 2nd place in the decathlon. Brianna Schmidt finished in 3rd place in the heptathlon. Brian Newkirk finished in 3rd place and Gabe Sams finished in 4th place in the 10 thousand meter run. Alec Garcia finished in 6th place in the shot put and Jazmin Williams finished in 7th place in the long jump.
Wyatt Sander qualfied for the finals in the 110 and 400 meter hurdles.
Taysean Goodwin and Duke Tibbs both qualified for the finals in the 200 and 400 meter dashes. Luke Stenzel also qualified for the finals in the 400 meter dash.
Thomas LaRoche and Murad Baheyadeen qualified for the finals in the 800 meter run. Hannah Shield qualified for the finals in the 100 meter dash.
The MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships wrap up Sunday.
