With the Special Olympics state games now less than a month away, the Emporia Police Department Benefit Association is helping support local athletes.
The EPD Scramble for Special Olympics golf tournament will take place Saturday at the Emporia Golf Course. Emporia Police Officer Jaffar Agha was a recent guest on KVOE’s Newsmaker and gave a rundown of Saturday’s event.
Agha also explained there will be a new component to this year’s scramble.
Participants may also purchase a ball at registration for a special ball drop/raffle. All proceeds will go to benefit Kansas Special Olympics athletes. The event will have a 9 am shotgun start. Teams of four may register the day of.
