The Emporia City Commission has several considerations looking for approval at this week’s action meeting.
On the agenda is an incentive compliance agreement for Cargill’s proposed $4 million warehouse expansion. The agreement which includes a 10-year tax abatement passed by the Regional Development Association Friday morning. City commissioners also will consider approval of a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Association for a new water tower project in Industrial Park III.
The City Commission will consider awarding bids for a lime slaker replacement project for Public Works and for pre-construction of closed-circuit television inspection of a downtown sanitary sewer project. The agenda also includes an ordinance to be considered to merge the Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Planning Commission and the Emporia Board of Zoning Appeals.
The City Commission meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Conference Room 1AB at White Auditorium.
